Physicists have long debated whether the hidden order in URu2Si2 is itinerant or localized, and it remains inaccessible to direct external probes. Recent observation of an overdamped collective mode in this material (C. Weibe et al, Nature Physics 3, 96-100 (2007)), appears to resolve this outstanding issue.

Abstract Adolph Murie (1899-1974), the son of Norwegian immigrants and a graduate of Concordia College in Moor-head, Minnesota, arrived in Alaska in September 1922 to assist his older stepbrother Glaus Murie in a study of caribou. Adolph Murie, or “Ade” as he was known to friends and family, fell in love with the far north, and, after completing doctoral work at the University of Michigan, returned often to Alaska.

The data on locations, habitats and vegetation season of 205 species agaricoid basidiomycetes new for the Karakol natural park UchEnmek (Altai Republic) are presented. They were collected in the steppe, forest, forest-steppe and highland belts. Among them 32 species are recorded for the first time for Altai Republic, 6 species are rare in Altai Republic and Western Siberia.

Ecological situations and the problems of natural management in Karachaevo-Cherkess republic are given in the light of the reorganizations of natural resources management.
