ABSTRACT A phenanthrene degrader, Mycobacterium sp. EPa45, was isolated from a phenanthrene-degrading consortium. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of EPa45, which has a 6.2-Mb single circular chromosome. We propose a phenanthrene degradation pathway in EPa45 based on the complete genome sequence.

There arise two problems when the expectation of some function with respect to a nonuniform multivariate distribution has to be computed by (quasi-) Monte Carlo integration: the integrand can have singularities when the domain of the distribution is unbounded and it can be very expensive or even impossible to sample points from a general multivariate distribution. We provide the genome sequences of the type strains of the polychlorophenol-degrading Mycobacterium chlorophenolicum (DSM43826), the degrader of chlorinated aliphatics Mycobacterium chubuense (DSM44219) and Mycobacterium obuense (DSM44075) that has been tested for use in cancer immunotherapy. ABSTRACT Nesterenkonia sp. strain PF2B19, a psychrophilic bacterium, was isolated from 44,800-year-old permafrost. The draft genome sequence of this strain revealed the presence of genes involved in the production of cold active enzymes, carotenoid biosynthesis, fatty acid biosynthesis, and resistance to heavy metals. These results show the immense potential of the strain.
