In 1633, Galileo Galilei was labelled a “heretic” for stating the Earth revolved around the sun. Now, almost 400 years later, we hold this as fact. Throughout history, heresy, has been used as a weapon to persecute women and minorities; to become richer than God; to conquer, control and crumble entire nations to dust. So, what is it now? This album, heretic, by musical artist and producer, St Enmor, is a searing, unfiltered examination of the world we live in and what it means to go against the grain – no matter the pain, the sacrifice or the cost. Each song is connected to at least one deadly sin – drawing inspiration from her own life and from stories about Lucifer, Medusa, Galileo as well as Korean idol culture, aristocracy, folk art and landscapes, Bangladeshi work culture and war art.
