Multiplex amplicon sequencing reveals polyclonality and low macrolide resistance in the French Mycoplasma pneumoniae outbreak, 2023-2024.

Unprecedented global increases in Mycoplasma pneumoniae respiratory infections began in late summer 2023. Although a predominance of p1 subtype 1 associated with alarmingly high rates of macrolide resistance was reported in Southeast Asia, data from Europe remain limited. We aimed to characterise the circulating M. pneumoniae strains in French hospitalised patients, using a high-throughput amplicon sequencing approach.

High-Pressure High-Temperature Nanodiamond-Modified ZnO Nanocomposites as Promising Photocatalysts: Synthesis and Characterization.

Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanostructures suffer from fast electron-hole recombination, limiting their applicability in photocatalytic environmental remediation, and carbon additives such as detonation nanodiamonds (DNDs) are constrained by their high defect density. To address this, ZnO nanocomposites modified with high-pressure, high-temperature nanodiamonds (HPHT NDs) were synthesized to evaluate whether their intrinsically lower defect density-evidenced by a dominant diamond Raman peak at 1330 cm

Performance of large language models in answering frequently-asked questions on celiac disease.

Celiac disease (CeD) is a common autoimmune condition requiring lifelong adherence to a gluten-free diet (GFD). Patients and caregivers increasingly seek information online, and large language models (LLMs) have emerged as potential educational tools. However, their reliability in CeD remains uncertain. This study aimed to evaluate the performance of three popular LLMs in answering frequently asked questions (FAQs) about CeD and GFD management.

Seasonal variation in BMI outcomes at 6 months: secondary analyses of a multidisciplinary healthy lifestyle programme for children and adolescents with obesity.

While international evidence suggests seasonal variations may influence outcomes of interventions for pediatric obesity, data for Aotearoa New Zealand are limited. We examined seasonal variations in changes in body mass index standard deviation score (BMI SDS) in young people with obesity enrolled in an intervention programme.

Evaluation of Large Language Models for Radiologists' Support in Multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Teams: Comparative Study.

Artificial intelligence tools, particularly large language models (LLMs), have shown considerable potential across various domains. However, their performance in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer remains unknown.

Dynamic whole-heart MRI of congenital heart disease patients in the presence of turbulent flow.

Ferumoxytol-enhanced dynamic whole-heart MRI is a promising technique for imaging patients with congenital heart disease (CHD). However, lesions that cause flow turbulence can result in artifacts that obscure the images and affect their diagnostic quality. The goal of this work is to develop and test an approach for dynamic whole-heart MRI in CHD patients with preserved image quality in the presence of turbulent flow.

Durvalumab in Patients With Treatment-Naive Stage IV NSCLC With an ECOG Performance Status of 2 to 3 and High PD-L1 Tumor Expression (IFCT-1802 SAVIMMUNE): A Multicenter Phase 2 Trial.

Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status 2 to 3 is associated with poor survival and chemotherapy-related adverse events (AEs). The impact of poor PS on the safety and efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors has not been elucidated. This study aimed to assess first-line durvalumab in patients with PS 2 to 3 with advanced NSCLC and high programmed cell death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression.

Cancer risks in lynch syndrome carriers: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Lynch Syndrome (LS), caused by pathogenic variants (PVs) in mismatch repair (MMR) genes, increases the risk of several cancers. Surveillance guidelines vary internationally due to inconsistent risk estimates. This study refines cancer risk estimates by gene, sex, and age to support personalized recommendations.
