Implementation of Kalman Filter with Python Language

In this paper, we investigate the implementation of a Python code for a Kalman Filter using the Numpy package. A Kalman Filtering is carried out in two steps: Prediction and Update. Each step is investigated and coded as a function with matrix input and output. These different functions are explained and an example of a Kalman Filter application for the localization of mobile in wireless networks is given.

Machine Learning using Stata/Python

We present two related Stata modules, r_ml_stata and c_ml_stata, for fitting popular Machine Learning (ML) methods both in regression and classification settings. Using the recent Stata/Python integration platform (sfi) of Stata 16, these commands provide hyper-parameters' optimal tuning via K-fold cross-validation using greed search. More specifically, they make use of the Python Scikit-learn API to carry out both cross-validation and outcome/label prediction.

Astroalign: A Python module for astronomical image registration

We present an algorithm implemented in the astroalign Python module for image registration in astronomy. Our module does not rely on WCS information and instead matches 3-point asterisms (triangles) on the images to find the most accurate linear transformation between the two. It is especially useful in the context of aligning images prior to stacking or performing difference image analysis. Astroalign can match images of different point-spread functions, seeing, and atmospheric conditions.
