Mastering GitHub Pages (Jekyll and GitHub Pages)

The InvenioRDM GitHub Archiver (IGA) is a new software tool created by the Caltech Library. InvenioRDM is the basis for many institutional repositories, such as CaltechDATA, that enable users to preserve software and data sets in a long-term archive. The metadata contained in the record of a deposit is critical to making the record widely discoverable by other people.

This research covers the complete period from 2008, when AaronSwartz first joined GitHub, to just a few days before his death in Jan-uary 2013. It includes, where available, relevant entries from his blog forcontext (later entitled Raw thought) and other sources.

Applet-Fu is a small JavaScript library that makes it easy to deploy applets by taking advantage of Web standards and features already supported by mainstream browsers. Following on from Annotating and cleaning GBIF data: Darwin Core Archive, GitHub, ORCID, and DataCite here's a quick and dirty example of using GitHub to help clean up a Darwin Core Archive. The dataset 3i - Cicadellinae Database has 2,152 species and 4,749 taxa, but GBIF says it has no georeferenced data.
