Comment on "Learning to Build the Bomb"

According to Alisa Carrigan's opinion in Physics Today Dec 2007, to prevent proliferation of nuclear weapons, certain rules should be set to prevent the spread of a particular kind of knowledge. with these disease entities when they occur in a patient. Shamans stand in no special relationship to any guardian spirit whom they can compel; their powers rest on a kind of homeopathic and mechanical control over their own ’pains’. Certain shamans are believed to carry rattlesnakes within their body and in addition to ’pains’ they are able to suck ’snakes’ out of their patients, but their special powers are directed toward the treatment of psychoses and not snake bites.

Carbon nanotubes as molecular quantum wires

Carbon nanotubes are cylindrical molecules with a diameter of as little as 1 nanometer and a length up to many micrometers. They consist of only carbon atoms, and can essentially be thought of as a single layer of graphite that has been wrapped into a cylinder, (See figure 1 and the article by Thomas Ebbesen in PHYSICS TODAY, June 1996, page 26).
