Last year I reminisced on the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of the Macintosh computer.

This paper presents the results of a theoretical study aimed at getting analytical relationships describing tool durability and wear resistance. These relationships allow one to determine the sum of cycles from the moment a mainline crack forms in a chromium plating tool, as well as the thickness of its worn layer.
