We introduce a norm on the real 1-cohomology of finite 2-complexes determined by the Euler characteristics of graphs on these complexes. We also introduce twisted Alexander-Fox polynomials of groups and show that they give rise to norms on the real 1-cohomology of groups. Our main theorem states that for a finite 2-complex X, the norm on H^1(X; R) determined by graphs on X majorates the Alexander-Fox norms derived from π_1(X).

This article introduces the Hartwig-Spindelböck decomposition of dual complex matrices. We provide representations of some generalized inverses using this decomposition. Further, several characterizations are established for a complex matrix to be Hermitian, normal and new dual EP matrix.

We consider differential-difference equations that determine the continuous symmetries of discrete equations on the triangular lattice. It is shown that a certain combination of continuous flows can be represented as a scalar evolution lattice equation of order 2. The general scheme is illustrated by a number of examples, including an analog of the elliptic Yamilov lattice equation.
